This post card of Great Witley believed to date from the 1930s shows the view looking south west from half way up the hill behind Redmarley Orchards where they use to grow potatoes and strawberries.
We think that the photo was taken from a position just inside the woodland at the top of the footpath behind the Hundred House. Of course the wood was not there when the photo was taken. Some of the very large trees of the Witley Court Estate can just be seen in the distant left. Almost all were felled following the break up and sale of the estate.
