The Royal Automobile Club International Rally visited the parish on a November Saturday afternoon in 1973.
A section began at Glazenbridge in neighbouring Shrawley, followed the unmade road past Wulstans Farm ending at Snuffy Row, Structons Heath.
Pictured is a works car from the Scandinavian Manufacturer Saab powering towards Structons Heath.
I remember Stig Blomqvist. The RAC used our house No 69 (Snuffy Row Structors Heath) as a communication centre , my mother Mary Cartwright was making tea and sandwiches for many . We enjoyed every moment, a year later I bought a Saab 96 two stroke just like the one Stig drove , I had it serviced at Arthur Moores garage in Great Witley for many years . It was a three cylinder two stroke 841 cc I think I clocked up around 200 thousand miles , selling it to one of the Parslow boys from Shrawley . Wonderful days
