Our second open day, held at Great Witley Village Hall, was a great success with a steady stream of visitors coming to visit us throughout the day. We were able to demonstrate how the online map will work and people were able to hear examples of the 20 or so recordings we have made to date. We also displayed a sample of fascinating local photographs and other media which people from the Witleys have provided to us in recent months. More photos and documents were brought in by visitors on the day and we were able to scan these and add them to our expanding archive.
Two local residents, Richard Quarterman and Anne Birkmyre, kindly offered to be interviewed on the day and we look forward to being able to publish their memories in the near future.
We were also delighted that our Harriett Baldwin our local MP, found time to call in to see how the project was going.
