Apart from the work undertaken by our ‘volunteers’ and of course contributions from local residents, we have a number of other partners helping us with us on the project.
Heritage Lottery Fund
The project may not have got off the ground without our grant from the fund, which greatly helped us to buy equipment, train our volunteers, promote the project, and publish the archive.
The Hive at Worcester
The expert team from the Worcestershire Archive and Archaeology Service at the Hive provided our original training on how to undertake oral history recordings, and will maintain a long term archive of our recordings for use by researchers in the future. They are continuing to provide guidance to our group and to the local schools who are involved in the project.
Great Witley C.E Primary School
Headmistress Karen Banford and Cedar Class teacher Helen Braznell oversaw the pupils involvement in the project, as they recorded interviews. A number of pupils and teachers also joined us for a history walk around Great Witley prepared by our Group.
Our thanks also go to Julia Letts, Local Historian and Audio production specialist for the narration, editing and production of our Witley Memories CD compilation.
