Sponsored by the then milk Marketing Board and the long lost British Leyland Cars, the race attracted international riders.

The Morris Marina Estate lead car and very early Range Rover press vehicle are followed by the leaders of the of pack as they sweep past the village school on the way to Worcester.

The tall nets in the background belonged to Abberley Cricket club who then used the school playing field for their home matches.

They were put up each time they played to protect road users and the property known as Robins Croft from the big hitters of the day.
