The Old Toll House

Toll House_1_Great Witley_

The Toll House was built to levy a tax on road users but was destroyed in 1939 as part of a road widening scheme. It became unused when the county councils took over the upkeep of roads/highways in 1888 and was eventually demolished.  The Old Bakery can be seen above and to the left of the Toll House.
